My re-watch count is in double figures now.) If I were Lisbon, I’d have switched off my phone and got back into bed ;)

Currie Graham just made his second appearance this season on The Mentalist in the episode called, “Red Hot.” He first guest-starred in episode 3, “Redline,” as arrogant millionaire Walter Mashburn, who Jane suspected may have been the baddie. Although his character played a bit of a douchebag, he wasn’t the culprit. He seemed to revel in the attention he received from the CBI and he began a mild flirtation with Lisbon. “Red Hot” reintroduces Mashburn as being at the center of another whodunit. In fact, Mashburn requests that Jane and Lisbon be on the case. Throughout the episode, it’s clear that Currie Graham is truly enjoying playing this role.

I think the reason Lisbon/Mashburn worked so well and was well received by fans was because it was written without having to sacrifice the established dynamics to include it on the storyline, unlike the Jane/Kristina bullshit. And Mashburn had chemistry with both Lisbon, and Jane. In Jane’s case, instead of going with a character that worked in terms of chemistry, they, for some reason, decided to go with Kristina. They had Sophie Miller, they had Brooke Harper, the mom from Scarlett Fever was fantastic, and all those characters had excellent chemistry with Jane, but no, they had to go with one of the most annoying characters the show has ever been cursed with. Here is to hoping one day they bring back Brooke and/or Sophie, now those characters, I think, would work as possible romantic interests for Jane. PS: Jane/Lisbon is still my OTP, but I see no reason why they shouldn’t have some fun in the mean time.
